If we examine the Old Testament, specifically the book of Genesis, we see that God, the almighty Father, created the world. His first act was to transform darkness into light.
In the book of Exodus, Moses led the children of Egypt out of Israel through the Red Sea. Again, Joshua led the children out of Israel to the promised land by crossing the river Jordan. Looking at Yeshua’s life, his ministry started with his baptism in the river Jordan. He was then led into the wilderness at the start of his ministry. Before the Hebrews left Egypt, they were instructed to celebrate a Passover. God commanded that they apply the blood of lambs to the doorposts of their homes. This spared them from the angel of death. At the feast of the Passover, Jesus celebrates the Last Supper, and then he sheds his blood on Good Friday for our redemption; he becomes the Passover lamb for our sins.
In God, the Father’s eyes, that act was transformational beauty. Jesus exchanged your guilt for his guilt. In our own lives, when a loved one dies, we remember the last words they spoke to us. These words have lasting importance. Read the Gospel of John to see Jesus’ last words. How many words did he say? (seven) Jesus’ first words were about forgiveness. Yeshua took your guilt and forgave it. As you meditate and apply the truth of Jesus’ last seven words to your life. It will help you to pass over by the power of the cross. May this Passover propel you to journey with the cross into the resurrection.
