It has been almost 4 weeks since we started praying every weekday morning at 7:30AM. First few days I would get up early in the morning and prepare my body for public viewing. That did not last for too long as I discovered the camera switch off button. But it was enough for me to change my routine to have breakfast in the morning with my wife. We have been married for over 15 years now, in which, because most days her work begins and ends from morning to afternoon while mine picks up between mid-morning till late evenings, we hardly ever would begin our day together. This is to say we have had to be intentional about spending time together during the day. That time is usually teatime at 4PM. We both love that time together. And now because of this new routine of praying early in the morning we begin the day together with tea and toast. The practice of early morning weekday prayers has given us a new time slot together.
At prayer time 7:30AM new relationships are being formed while old relationships are being strengthened. Out of the last four weeks we have hardly had a couple of days that I had to pray alone. We have had people join us from all over the globe. We have prayed about tough situations and then heard some great thanksgivings. Just by being in prayer together I feel I know those who I pray with at a much deeper level. I am witnessing the regular attendees grow in their relationships as well.
It is indeed wonderful to see the power of prayer in action as it is forming a whole new community around The Table. This table has no physical location. Neither is it bound by any boundaries and borders. It is truly the way God intends God’s people to function, completely free and unhinged in our reach and care for the world.
If you have not yet, join us at 7:30AM any weekday. Joining is simple, just click this link: https://the-table.church/prayer-room allow your browser to use your camera and microphone (you can switch off the camera later) and then after typing in your name simply “knock” and wait for someone to let you in the prayer room! That’s it! In so doing you will enter a whole new way of being, creating for yourself a new community, a new family that prays together. You can join any day of the week from anywhere, or join every day, there is no compulsion or expectation.
Being at the Table in prayer is transforming my life, I pray it does the same for you.
