This Sunday we talked about Rejection – you can watch it here. I am grateful to God for a community that can express openly all the ways it feels when it gets rejected; I am ecstatic that it sees rejection not only as an occasion to allow the flow of difficult emotions but an opportunity to move forward with strength, resolve, and joy to fulfill the mission of God.
Just in the last few days I have had multiple people tell me how wonderful it is now that we are The Table. People are saying that our decision to form The Table in the face of rejection was the right and good decision – they have never felt happier as a community. It is so because we chose to reject the forces of despair, death, and destruction to derail us from doing the work of God. Like Jesus’ experience, our experience is also that of having to face uncertainty, harshness, and even persecution.
You see my friends, rejection is not a bad thing, it is how God moves God’s people to newer heights. So, when you feel rejected, I encourage you to take a moment by yourself and assess what opportunity God is presenting you with through this rejection? And then know that God is with you and will complete the good work that God has begun in you.
So, in our life together called to fulfill Christ’s great commission, which opportunity have we not explored yet? I would love to hear from you.
Blessings!
